What Ingredients Are in Mouse Away?

Mouse Away Original Mint Spray contains two active ingredients: 4.7% Cornmint oil and 1.1% Spearmint oil. Both types of oils have some menthol content: Spearmint contains about 1%, while Cornmint oil contains between 50% and 80% depending on the preparation. This Spearmint-Cornmint oil blend is combined with water and castor oil to create a lightweight spray with repellent properties and a fresh, invigorating scent.

Why Does Mouse Away Spray Work?

Thanks to its mint content, Mouse Away Original Mint Spray contains a significant amount of menthol. Why is this important? Menthol has a pretty strong aroma on its own, but Cornmint's high percentage of this compound gives Mouse Away an even stronger menthol odor. Rodents do not like its smell because it irritates their nasal passages. That's what makes Mouse Away an impactful and humane mouse repellent: Mice actively avoid the smell but remain unharmed.

How Do I Use Mouse Away Spray?

Mouse Away Original Mint Spray is convenient and easy to use. Simply spray in areas where you've noticed rodent activity. Other good places to use Mouse Away include your attic, basement, garage, shed, pool house and storage areas. Spray liberally around entry points such as pipes, vents and garage doors.

When spraying Mouse Away, it's best to avoid treated wood surfaces. Don't spray onto baseboards, counters or cabinets. We also recommend avoiding use in the main living areas of your home.
